Coastal Backpacking | VA

Join our Virginia Beach Ambassador on a 3 day, 2 night backpacking trip. This spot is only accessible by foot, bike, or boat. Attendees are responsible for providing all of their own backpacking gear and food. The hike to the camping area is 6.9 miles.
Reservations are required two weeks in advance - please register no later than May 1st to allow for the two week period.

Hop in a kayak to enjoy a sunny morning paddle and be lead among the lush marsh grasses and wetland plants by a Park Naturalist, while looking out for the wildlife that call the marsh and creek home, including osprey, beavers, herons, bald eagles and on rare occasions river otters.
*Personal kayaks not permitted. (Must rent)

Come join us for our second event in RVA! We'll be much closer to the downtown core of RVA this time around and will be hiking a 6.1 mile loop hike with almost 500 feet in elevation gain.
Other than occasional crossings this is a single track trail that we have to share with mountain bikers, so we will be keeping the group small at 12 people.
This is rated "moderate" but personally think it's on the easier side of moderate.

Kicking off our first event in RVA!
We're keeping things close by and simple here for our first event. Join us to hike this 6.8-mile loop trail.
This is generally considered an easy route with only 325 feet of elevation gain. We hike rain or shine, but thunderstorms will entail a cancellation.

Our local mix of woods, meadows, and wetlands makes ideal habitat for several species of owls, and clear winter nights are the perfect time to listen for them.
Join us for an evening of learning about these awesome creatures of the night. We'll learn about their natural history and calls, then hit the trails for a chance to hear them in the wild. It promises to be a hoot!

Come join us for a few hours of PRIVATE climb time, beginner and pro-friendly!
This month, the DC Chapter will convene to practice bouldering, hang (pun intended) out with new friends, and get some exercise indoors.
Don't have gear? No worries! The gym will provide rental shoes INCLUDED in your admission fee.
Prepare for 2-3 hours of climb time, though the admission fee grants entry to the whole gym for the entire day (12PM-8PM)!
Fear of heights? Also no worries! Bouldering does not exceed 20 feet of vertical climbing and has routes that run horizontally rather than vertically.
